Sports Fixtures Policy
The Suthers School has a growing representation locally and regionally for its sporting participation and excellence.
We endeavour to get as many students as possible to participate in extra-curricular activities and experience competitions with other schools at the appropriate level and therefore we compete in a number of different levels of competition.
On a Local platform our teams have participated and competed in Football, Rugby, Cross Country, Netball and indoor Athletics and outdoor Athletics.
As we expand, we will look to expand our participation and competitions this year in Table Tennis, Basketball, Cricket, Rounder and Handball.
As a school we are part of the Newark and Sherwood Partnership and compete against local secondary schools in the Newark area in inclusive events for all students.
If your child is selected to represent The Suthers School in competitions, a letter or an email will be sent to parents which has all the necessary details of the fixture. If you have any questions about the fixture, please do not hesitate to contact the PE department.
We expect all students who are selected to represent The Suthers School to show the upmost standards of expectations and behaviour both within school and whilst representing the school on fixtures. If behaviour of students who are selected to represent The Suthers School in sporting fixtures does not meet our expectation, the student will be at risk of no longer being selected to represent the school sports teams. We expect all students to follow high standards of respect, sportsmanship and codes of conducts towards fellow teammates, the opposition, officials and volunteering staff whilst participating in any of our sporting teams.
Due to safeguarding policies, parents/carers from both home and away schools cannot spectate at any fixtures that take place at The Suthers School before 4pm. After 4pm parents/carers can come onto school site to spectate and support the fixture via our community entrance.
