We are thrilled to announce that as a school we will be taking part in the Big Draw this year, with this becoming an annual celebration of creativity. This will take place on 21st October in our first off timetable day for students to experiment and experience Art through creativity, a range of materials, Artists and movements.
This year the theme is ‘drawn to life’. We are using this to inspire our students to bring subjects to life with inspiration from a range of artists and movements.
Science - Bubble Art to create cell images, 3D microscope sculpture with illustration on.
Maths - Jasper John inspired numbers.
English - Illustration of a day in the life at Suthers. Inspired by Lauren Childs and/or Indi Maverick
Geography - Matisse inspired paper cutting of natural forms
Music - Kandinsky inspired music drawing
Art - Pattern feathers to form a mural using a range of materials and techniques
We suggest that students come equipped with an apron or alternatively an old shirt to protect their uniform.
