Combined Science

This is a combined course - you will be taught the three sciences as separate disciplines, but you will receive two GCSEs in Science as a combined award.

There are seven required practical activities for each discipline. 

Assessment

There are six papers: two biology, two chemistry and two physics. 

Each paper is 1 hour 15 minutes • Foundation and Higher Tier • 70 marks • 16.7% of GCSE

Where can it lead?

Science is a highly valued subject that that provides students with a wide variety of skills and knowledge that help to prepare students for KS5. Science education nurtures the development of transferable skills essential for the workplace. Science provides a foundation for many science-related and unrelated careers such as: doctor, vet, physiotherapist, chemist, beautician, plumber, nurse, architect, surveyor, engineer, farmer, sports trainer, lawyer, journalist, computer games developer, marine biologist and electrician.
