Overview:

The AQA GCSE Business course offers students a comprehensive understanding of fundamental business principles, preparing them for further study or entry into the business world. Throughout the course, students will develop essential knowledge and skills in areas such as enterprise, marketing, finance, operations, human resources, and external influences. They will also cultivate transferable skills including communication, problem-solving, and analytical thinking. Students will be assessed through two exams covering six mandatory units:

Unit 1: Business in the Real World (Exam 1 & 2)

Exploring different types of business organizations.

Investigating key stakeholders and their influence on business activities.

Unit 2: Influences on Business (Exam 1 & 2)

Understanding external factors affecting businesses such as economic, environmental, technological, and ethical influences.

Analysing the impact of globalization on businesses.

Examining the role of the government in business regulation and policies.

Unit 3: Business Operations (Exam 1)

Understanding the importance of operational management in achieving business objectives.

Exploring the concepts of production processes, quality control, and customer service.

Analysing methods of improving efficiency and productivity in business operations.

Unit 4: Human Resources (Exam 1)

Understanding the role and functions of human resource management.

Exploring recruitment, training, and performance management processes.

Investigating the importance of effective employee relations and motivation strategies.

Unit 5: Marketing and Customers (Exam 2)

Understanding the marketing concept and its significance to businesses.

Investigating market research methods and analysing consumer behaviour.
