Overview: 

This qualification will help to develop knowledge and skills so that you can work with independence to create complete and coherent material which reflects effective planning, development and evaluation. You will also develop a full range of transferable skills including verbal communication/presentation, research, problem solving, analytical skills, digital presentation planning and creative thinking. You will be able:

to recall, select and apply knowledge and understanding of Enterprise and Marketing

present information clearly and with accuracy, using a range of terminology

apply knowledge, understanding and skills in a range of situations to plan and carry out investigations and tasks, testing solutions, and working safely

review evidence available, analysing and evaluating information clearly and making some basic adaptations to methods used

make judgements and draw appropriate conclusions

Assessment:

You will study 3 mandatory units:

R067: Enterprise and marketing concepts Written paper, OCR set and marked

I In this unit, you will learn about the key factors to consider and activities that need to happen to operate a successful small start-up business.

R068: Design a business proposal Centre-assessed tasks, OCR moderated

In this unit, you will identify a customer profile for a specific product, complete market research to generate product design ideas, and use financial calculations to propose a pricing strategy and determine the viability of their product proposal.

R069: Market and pitch a business proposal Centre-assessed tasks, OCR moderated

In this unit, you will develop pitching skills to be able to pitch your business proposal to an external audience. Finally, you will review your pitching skills and business proposal using self-assessment and feedback gathered.

Where can it lead?

You can progress from OCR Cambridge National in Enterprise and Marketing to other vocational qualifications such as our Applied General Level 3 Cambridge Technical in Business, or an A Level in Business, or a T Level in Digital Business Services, as well as Apprenticeship standards such as Business Administration.

Exam (R067) - 40%

Coursework (R068, R069) - 60%

Where can it lead?

There are many paths you can take using a Business, from setting up your own business to working in various departments of an international corporation. Business Studies is useful for both everyday working life and specialist disciplines in successful companies.
